In order to develop the Government of Pakistan’s capacities in the area of human trafficking and migrant smuggling and to react in a strategic manner, UNODC Pakistan requires the services of a Assistant Programme Officer – HTMS with at least 5-years’ experience of working with law enforcement agencies with specific focus on human trafficking and migrant smuggling issues as well as Programme planning, monitoring and evaluation.
Responsibilities of Assistant Programme Officer
- Support implementation of Programme activities at national and provincial level and ensure the implementation of workplans.
- Support the Programme Officer – HTMS in preparing donor progress reports, work-plans and other material to support to the design and implementation of human trafficking and migrant smuggling Programmes/projects
- Assist the Programme Officer in development of concept notes/project documents for new and extension of on-going projects as and when required
- Provide substantive support to the Programme Officer – Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling for smooth implementation of the overall projects/programmes.
- Liaise with and facilitate the public and private sector implementing partners /firms in their tasks and deliverables.
- Facilitate the project activities and ensure that implementation of progress is in accordance with agreed project timelines.
- Assist in carrying out coordination with key stakeholders including government and non-government sector.
- Engage with public information initiatives and maintain close relationship with government counterparts, civil society and other related law enforcement agencies
- Support the Programme Officer in assessing the project performance including utilization of resources and achievement planned targets
- Carry out the advocacy and information related tasks such as making interventions and presentations in workshops, seminars and missions etc.

Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of development studies, project management, public administration, business administration, political science, international relations or related fields.
- Minimum of 04 years (with bachelor’s degree) or 07 years (with high school) of relevant progressively responsible program management and implementation experience
- Knowledge and experience working with the GoP, with regards to programme implementation.
- Ability to work under pressure and pay attention to details with tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in the use of information technology (word processing, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets and data management and analysis).
- Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English, with good analytical and communication skills.
- Experience working with an international organization, especially the UN is desirable.
